Description
Verticillium dahliae is a soil borne pathogen that affects potato fields in Manitoba. Accurately determining the level of inoculum present in soil can assist with grower decision making.
PSI uses a validated DNA-based test to determine the presence and amount of V. dahliae microsclerotia present in a soil sample.
To sample soil:
Collect soil from the field following the current sampling guidelines for clubroot. Keep samples from each field separate. Label with the location information.
